Soil Screening

Soil screening turns rough, rocky dirt into clean, usable topsoil without hauling anything off. We run a screening bucket on the Caterpillar compact track loader that sifts out the rocks, roots, sticks, and debris and leaves you material you can plant in, grade with, or backfill. It happens right on your property, so you are not paying to haul dirt out and truck clean soil back in.

How our soil screening works

The screening bucket loads up rough material and sifts it as the machine works, dropping clean soil through the screen while the rocks, roots, and oversized junk stay behind. What comes out is fine, consistent material. What stays in the bucket is the debris you did not want, ready to set aside or haul off.

Doing it on-site is the whole point. Instead of buying screened topsoil and paying to dump the rocky stuff, you turn the dirt you already have into the dirt you need.

What we screen

Topsoil for lawns, beds, and gardens, compost for spreading, and rocky or root-filled dirt from land clearing and site prep. We separate rock and gravel from soil, clean up material for landscaping, and screen leftover spoil so it is usable again instead of hauled away.

It pairs with the trenching and clearing work. The spoil from a trench or the dirt from a cleared lot often just needs screening to become good fill or planting soil.

Clean material, less hauling

The value is in what you do not have to do. No buying screened topsoil by the yard, no renting a separate screening plant, no hauling rocky spoil to a dump and clean dirt back in. The bucket does it in place, and you end up with a pile of clean soil and a pile of separated debris.

Tell us what you are trying to make, whether it is fine garden soil or general fill, and we screen to match.

Around the pond and the property

Like the rest of these, this grew out of the pond and land work. Screening the dirt from a cleared shoreline, cleaning up spoil from a drainage trench, prepping soil for a new bed or a pad. Same machine, same day when it makes sense.

We keep it simple. You point at the pile, tell us what you need out of it, and we screen it clean.

What it costs

Straight pricing

Quoted per job. Tell us roughly how much material you need screened and what you want out of it, clean topsoil or general fill. Volume and how dirty the material is drive the number, so we price it once we know the pile.

Quick questions

Good to know

Do I have to haul dirt off to get clean soil?

No. That is the point of screening on-site. We sift the material you already have into clean soil and separated debris right there, so you are not paying to haul rocky dirt out and truck clean topsoil back in.

What can you screen?

Topsoil, compost, and rocky or root-filled dirt from clearing and trenching. We separate the rocks, roots, and debris and leave you fine, consistent material to plant, grade, or backfill with.
